Odisha Raj Bhavan gardens open for general public from January 5

Odisha Raj Bhavan Garden opens to school children and the general public like every year. The general public can visit the garden from 5th January to 19th January 2020.

Visitors will be allowed to enter the garden from Gate No 2 near Main Gate of Raj Bhavan from 2.30 PM to 5 PM every day including holidays and Sundays.

School children up to Class 10 can visit the garden between 6th January 2020 to 21st January 2020 except on Sunday between 8.30 am and 10 am. For this the school authorities should send their requests to ADC to Governor or ACP, Raj Bhavan, Odisha.

For a hassle-free entry into the garden in the scheduled timeline Raj Bhavan has developed a Mobile App in name of ‘Rajbhavan Odisha’ which is available in Google Play Store for Android users. Using this mobile app, visitors can generate QR Code entry pass on their smartphones which will be scanned at Raj Bhavan gate for hassle-free entry. However, the manual entry system through Registers will continue to be available near the Raj Bhavan Reception Centre.

People can now visit the lawns, gardens and deer park inside the premises of the governor’s secretariat-cum-residence.

“Every year during winter we take children to the Raj Bhavan gardens, which are beautifully maintained. Since entry is prohibited at other times of the year, there is always curiosity among people to know what is there on the other side of the tall walls,” said Prakash Mishra, a teacher at a local school.

The main attraction of the gardens is the rose bushes, the cactus house, the orchid house, the deer park, the fountain, and the ayurvedic garden.

The visitors are requested not to carry tiffin box, food packets, water bottle and camera with them. The visitors are also requested to keep the garden clean during their stay and cooperate with the personnel on duty.
