Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities are planning to showcase Odisha’s classical dances including Odissi, Gotipua, Sambalpuri at the Bhubaneswar airport terminal for the entertainment of waiting passengers.
The flyers can also interact with the artistes and take selfie, airport director Sharad Kumar said.
The famous sand art of Odisha, which has already obtained a global name, would also be placed in the programme menu on the terminal premises. The sculpture with special theme would be changed in every 10 or 15 days.

Apart from the regular kiosks and shopping stalls, the airport shall be host to various events ranging from exhibitions to fashion shows, music and auto shows, children gaming and many more to engage the passengers.
BPIA Director, Sharad Kumar said as the airport will soon expand its international connectivity, there will be a rise in tourist footfall to the State. Along with the regular showcase on local tradition that will give the visitors an insight to Odia culture, a range of various engaging activities shall be used to entertain the travellers.
Apart from giving a boost to tourism in the State, the activities will make passengers, wait at the airport entertaining, he added.
