Odisha’s Omshi Samal is Google Code-in grand prize winner

Odisha girl Omshi Samal is placed among 50 Grand Prize Winners of Google Code-in (GCI) 2017. 3,555 students from 78 countries participated in the contest.

Omshi is a Class-XIII student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar. Her project on liquid galaxy has won the first prize in its category and attracted attention from experts.

Google has invited Omshi and her parents to the US on a week-long study trip in the first week of June where she will be honoured at the company headquarters.

Omshi will also get prizes and other packages during her trip. School principal K.C. Satapathy and academic supervisor Niranjan Swain congratulated Omshi for this feat.

Omshi Samal, daughter of Banker Soumya Ranjan Samal and homemaker Suman Kalyani Samal, has passed Class X with 96 per cent marks.
