Now pay fees online without visiting RTO counters in Odisha
In view of heavy rush at regional transport offices (RTOs), Odisha government is set to launch a single receipt system allowing the applicants to deposit fees and all types of charges online.
The system will be introduced for payment of learner’s licence (LL), driving licence (DL), vehicle registration, permit, fitness and other charges online.
Transport officials said that the new system will be beneficial for applicants especially those applying for driving licences after implementation of the amended MV Act.
“Earlier we have the provision of online payment of government dues from the applicants. But applicants have to deposit the service provider fee at the counters in concerned RTOs. With the new system applicants don’t need to stand in a queue to deposit the service provider’s fee,” said a transport official.
Notably, the Motor Vehicles Act 2019 came into effect from September 1. Keeping in view the rising public resentment across the state over the provision of hefty fines in the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, the Odisha government on September 9 relaxed implementation of the new traffic rules for three months.
