Odisha: 208 private hospitals under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana

According to a statement issued by the Odisha Health and Family Welfare department, people can get the benefits under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in all the government hospitals and 208 empanelled private hospitals in the State.

The beneficiaries under the health insurance scheme can avail health coverage of upto Rs 5 lakh per family in all the State-run medical colleges and hospitals across Odisha.

Besides, people irrespective of their economic condition can get free healthcare services in all the public health centres and district headquarters hospitals under the scheme.

Odisha government clarified that an amount of Rs 1,003.52 crore will be spent on Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), the much vaunted universal health coverage scheme, with special emphasis on health protection of economically vulnerable families.

The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on August 15 rejecting the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. Under the State scheme, the women members of a family will avail health coverage upto Rs 7 lakh per annum.
