RBL Bank opens first Odisha branch in Bhubaneswar’s Jayadev Vihar
The RBL Bank, a fast-growing private bank in India, on Thursday opened its first branch in Odisha, taking the total number of its branches to 269 across 20 States and Union Territories in India.
The branch situated at Jayadev Vihar in Bhubaneswar was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi. RBL/Ratnakar Bank Limited is a scheduled commercial bank, headquartered in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra, India. Founded in August 1943.
“Ratnakar Bank” was re branded and was portrayed under a new name “RBL Bank” in Mid of Year 2014. In August 2016, RBL Bank was listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
It would serve both retail and institutional customers through a comprehensive portfolio of banking services including current and savings accounts, credit cards, fixed deposits and locker facilities. The bank also plans to expand its network in Odisha by opening two more branches at Jajpur Road and Paradip shortly.
On the inauguration of the Bhubaneswar branch, the bank’s Branch and Business Banking head Surinder Chawla said, “We are delighted to launch our banking operations in Odisha. Our first new branch in Bhubaneswar is part of a strategic initiative to deliver a wide range of banking services to a cross-section of people in this historically and culturally important city.”
