Re-polling at 7 Booths of Odisha on April 25

Taking note of the alleged irregularities in polling during Phase II elections, the Election Commission today ordered re-polling in seven booths in Odisha where elections were disrupted due to violence in the second phase polls on April 17.

As per the order, re polling in six booths at Niali in Cuttack district and one booth at Telkoi block in Keonjhar district would be held on April 25, sources in the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) said.

The directive of the EC came following recommendation of the CEO Mona Sharma.

The Chief Electoral Officer has said that re polling will be held at 7 booths yesterday. Dr Sharma has also proposed 25th April to set as the polling day to the Election Commission of India.
