Rituraj Mohanty performs at 22nd State Youth Festival in Puri

Rituraj Mohanty, the Odisha boy who rose to fame by winning a TV reality show, performed his popular hit songs at a concert in Puri as part of the ongoing 22nd State Youth Festival.

The event is providing a chance to youngsters across the state to showcase their talents. The festival is also giving them an opportunity to share the stage with icons of art and culture.

Around 1,600 youngsters are taking part in the four-day festival, which is being organised on the SCS College ground. Competitions in singing, dancing and drama will be held. The administration has been hosting the event for the last 22 years.

Sarah Smruti, a student of BJB College in Bhubaneswar, was elated to meet Rituraj Mohanty. Sarah, who wants make a name in Bollywood as a playback singer, got some expert guidance from Mohanty, who is at present based in Mumbai.

“I love singing and Rituraj is my idol. His journey began from a village in Puri and his present stardom is an inspiration for me. I am really happy that I got an opportunity to talk to him and learn about music from him,” said the 22-year-old girl.

“There are many similarities and differences in popular culture and lifestyle of our state. It is very important that the youngsters get a chance to understand our culture,” said district sports officer Rabindra Kumar Senapati.
