To meet the daily need of consumers under one roof, two outlets of Mother Dairy Safal fruit and vegetable were inaugurated at petrol pumps in Bhubaneswar smart city.
Bhubaneswar became the third city in the country with Safal stores at petrol pumps, after successful running in Delhi NCR and Bangalore, selling fresh and quality vegetables and fruits at affordable rates.
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the two outlets of Safal at Rajdhani Service Station of Bharat Petroleum and COCO Raj Bhavan of Indian Oil.
People in the city can now get fresh fruits and vegetables at petrol pumps. The pilot project is aimed at providing fruits and vegetables to consumers at affordable prices at the same time providing market linkage to vegetable growers and give them a fair price for their produces.
Apart from ensuring quality and hygienic fruits and vegetables to consumers, Safal will also promote farm producer organisations, which will streamline procurement. Mother Dairy has also plans to expand the facilities to more filling centres in coming days.
