SpiceJet to start its flight services at Jharsuguda Airport from today

The budget airline SpiceJet will start its flight services at the Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Odisha’s Jharsuguda under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme from today.

“Its a historic moment for us as for the first time, a bigger commercial flight will land at VSS airport on Sunday. Due to enforcement of model code of conduct, we have not organised any grand function to welcome the first flight of SpiceJet here. However, we have planned to give a water cannon salute to the flight,” said Director of VSS Airport S K Chauhan.

SpiceJet will operate on three routes in both directions– Delhi to Jharsuguda, Kolkata to Jharsuguda and Hyderabad to Jharsuguda.

The flight will leave New Delhi at 1.15 PM and arrive at the Jharsuguda Airport at 3.10 PM everyday. Again, it will depart the Jharsuguda Airport at 3.40 PM the same day and reach New Delhi at 5.35 PM.

Similarly, the flight will depart Jharsuguda Airport at 4.10 PM and reach Hyderabad at 6 PM everyday. On its return journey, the flight will leave Hyderabad at 6.30 PM and arrive at the Jharsuguda Airport at 8.20 PM.

On Kolkata-Jharsuguda route, the flight will leave Kolkata at 2.25 PM and arrive at the Jharsuguda Airport at 3.50 PM, regularly. It will again depart Jharsuguda Airport at 8.40 PM and reach Kolkata at 10 PM.
