Sudarsan Pattnaik creates Santa Claus sand art with plastic bottles

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has sculpted a Santa Claus sand art with plastic bottles at the Puri sea beach in Odisha on the occasion of Christmas.

The 30-feet high and 100-feet wide sand art has been created with usage of 10,000 plastic bottles. The sand art bears the message of beating plastic pollution. Its is another world record attempt by him.

Plastic pollution is one of the major problems the Earth is currently facing. Last year, the sand arts created the “world’s biggest” sand Santa face with the message “World Peace” on the Puri beach of Odisha on Christmas Eve.

With an aim to enter the Limca Book of World record, the sand art was of 25 feet high and 50 feet wide. A sand sculpture of Jesus Christ was also created in front of it using 600 tonnes of sand.

Last year, Pattnaik had created world’s biggest Santa Claus face using sand at the sea beach. In 2016, he had made one thousand small Santa Claus sand arts at the beach with support from his 35 students.
