Taxi hailing app Uber launched its service in Bhubaneswar city of Odisha on July 2.
Uber is a mobile app that connects riders to drivers with the tap of a button. There are two type of Cars available – UberGO and UberX. Base fare is Rs 50 for both. After that, you have to pay Rs 6 per km for UberGO and Rs 8 per km for UberX ride. Per minute charge is One Rupee.
As an introductory offer, Uber is offering new users in Bhubaneswar an opportunity to get free rides. When signing up, users will have to use the promo code ‘INDIA18’ to avail the offer. Each user will be entitled to two free rides worth Rs 200 each.
Since it is a new launch, the company has warned that users may have to wait a bit to get hold of a cab. With this launch Uber is now in 18 cities in India.

Uber is still banned in Delhi after rape allegations against one of its drivers.
