Cuttack Railway Station gets free Wi-Fi facility from November 1

After Bhubaneswar and Puri, Odisha’s Cuttack Railway Station now offers free Wi-Fi facility.

The wireless Internet connectivity service is part of the Digital India initiative of Indian Railway under which any user having a working mobile connection on a smart phone or on any laptop device can avail the facility.

Lok Sabha MP and chairperson, Railway Convention Committee Bhartruhari Mahtab on Tuesday inaugurated free Wi-Fi at Cuttack railway station. Devraj Panda, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road was also present on the occasion.

Notably, a trial run was being conducted during the Durga Puja festival this year.

Under the Digital India initiative, Railways will be providing internet facilities to the passengers at 100 busiest stations by the end of this year.

The free Wi-Fi service will enable visitors and passengers to access Internet through smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Similarly, escalators will be provided at Cuttack Station shortly after completion of ongoing development works. Singh said Cuttack will have all the facilities as per the norms and status of the station.
