Director Basant Sahoo to make short films

After directing many hit Odia feature films over the years, veteran director Basant Sahoo is now planning to make a series of short films.

The director has already finalized two scripts and will start shooting from the first week of February. “There are 12 short films to be canned. We have already selected four subjects and have finalized the scripts for two. The first one is titled Nisanga Nayika and we are yet to give the second script a title. The films will be shot in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri,” shares Sahoo.

The short films will be of 50 minute duration each and will be telecast on various Odia channels. Interestingly, there will be no mainstream actors from Ollywood as the director has used completely new faces in the cast. Sahoo thinks these fresh faces will give the audience something to look forward to in the films.
