Matira Bandhana Oriya Movie is an oriya art film starring Mihir Das, Anu Choudhury and Samaresh as main protagonists. After Kathantara, Himanshu Khatua is directing Anu Choudhury in this movie for the second time. The movie is based upon enowned English poet Jayant Mahapatra’s short story “The Trunk of Ganesha”. The story revolves around an aging idol maker (played by Mihir Das) and his search for meaning of his existence which is affected by the ravages of changing time and the psychic trauma he undergoes during the search. Recently, this film is screened at the prestigious Mumbai Film Festival organised by MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image) on 15th October, 2011.
