Durga puja oriya films release postponed
The Odisha Film Producer’s Association has postponed release of four films following the cyclone threat.
“All four producers took the unanimous decision,” president of the association Bijay Kandoi said.
The films are Mu Raja Tu Rani, Tu Mo Dehara Chhai, Akhire Akhire, Kehi Jana Bhala Lagere.
“We had distributed invitation cards, everything was ready for the premier on Friday. But keeping in view the cyclone forecast, we don’t want to take any chance and hold it for a day or two,” Pradyumna Lenka said.
“When threat of another super cyclone is looming large, we cannot expect people to come to cinema halls to watch movies. So we decided to postpone the release of our film till the danger passes away,” Susant Mani told.
“We prefer to release films during festivals. But this time people are panicky. There is no point in releasing the films and running it to empty halls,” Sudhansu Sahu said.
If the cyclone affect is less, then all the movies may release on Sunday, or else later.
