Fitfat Bioscope Award 2012 to Raju Mishra

Acclaimed cinematographer, director and composer Raju Mishra was presented the FitFat Bioscope Award 2012 at a glittering ceremony on Sunday. The award, comprising a silver filigree replica of a bioscope and Rs 25,000 cash was given to him by Gloria Mohanty, actress of yesteryear, who featured in Mishra’s first film Ulka.

A gold medallist in cinematography from FTII Pune, Mishra made his first film Ulka, which is more known for its song ‘Abhimanini e Amaniya Dheu’.

He went on to direct blockbusters like ‘Chaka Akhi Sabu Dekhuchi’, ‘Asuchi Mo Kalia Suna’, ‘Pua Mora Kala Thakura’, ‘Jor Jaar Mulak Taar’, etc. He has also directed seven Assamese films.

The award ceremony comprised a novel 45- minute audio-visual documentary interspersed with live performances on the life and works of Mishra.
