Sangharsh Oriya Film Preview

Sangharsh Oriya Movie is based on the life of a young boy, Chandran, played joins the Maoists. What forces Chandran to turn into a Maoist and its consequences is the crux of the film. Uday Kiran from the south will also feature in the film.

“Through this film, we want to show what forces a man to become a Maoist and what the demands of the rebel group are. We will also try to focus on the possible solutions of the tussle between the Maoists and the government,” said producer Rajesh Putra.

The film will put emphasis on all major incidents revolving around the rebel group, starting from the 2004 Dandakaranya incident and killing of police personnel in Dantewada to the recent abductions. The Sangharsh team prefers to make the film look as close to real incidents and therefore, has decided to capture the scenes in the regions of undivided Kora put, regions of Andhra Pradesh, Dandakaranya and Dantewada.

“It is a very challenging film. I am playing the role of a Maoist and I have done a bit of research to understand their mindset. We hope our aim of emphasising the sensitive issue will be reflected in the film in the proper manner,” said Lawrence.
