Chetan Bhagat visited Bhubaneswar
Chetan Bhagat was in Bhubaneswar to participate in a seminar ‘Motivation to succeed in IIT-JEE’ organised by Vidwan Classes at Utkal Mandap. The renowned author advises students to respect their dreams. “There is no success mantra. You have to respect yourself and your dreams. You are the hero of your life and you have to write the script yourself and remember failure comes in every successful man’s life,†he said here Monday.
The seminar was an interactive session with scholars with an IIT background to help the aspirants gain more confidence for the upcoming IIT-JEE. The pattern for IIT-JEE will be changed from next year. Bhagat mentioned that during his days in IIT, there were no such seminars which could help them find answers to their curiosity.
Talking about his books and how his books were made into movies subsequently, he said if he could do it, anyone could. “People will give you confusing ideas. Some might tell you to take risks, others might tell you to play safe. It is you who has to decide what suits you best,” said Bhagat. He also encouraged the students to increase the selection for IIT-JEE to 500 from existing figure of 100. Also present at the seminar were the two founders of Vidwan Classes, Abhaya Kumar (HoD Physics), Jyoti Ranjan Tripathy (HoD Mathematics) and a few faculty members.
“Odisha will be the next story of revival like the state of Bihar. It has a lot of potential. IIT has 10,000 seats, the number of Odia students clearing JEE must increase manifold. Also, I was surprised that people are so aware about movies and novels here”, he told.
