Tamando Police Station
DGP Prakash Mishra on Friday inaugurated the Tamando police station which is the biggest one in the state. Unlike other police stations that lack basic facilities, this model police station will have everything. The lockups here will have better facilities unlike those found in other police stations.
It is constructed by Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Limited at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore. The new police station is three storey and stands on a one-acre plot. It has a system room to control all activities, a conference hall, a counselling room, an interrogation room, barracks and other facilities which are not found in other police stations of the state. The CCTV cameras would be installed at all places and a custody officer would be in charge of the system room.
Thirteen villages from Khandagiri police limit have now come under the jurisdiction of the new police station. Gradually, Janla police outpost of Jatni police station will be part of Tamando police station. To start with, the brand new police station has around 15 personnel, including an inspector, two sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors, one havildar and 10 constables.
