Second Gotipua Dance Festival from November 15

The second Gotipua Dance Festival 2012 will be organised by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre (GKCM ORC) in association with Tourism and Culture Department of Odisha. It starts from November 15 and ends on 17th. The three-day festival will be a platform for the numerous Gotipua dancers from across the State to showcase the traditional art form.

The Gotipua Dance Troupes who will perform in which days in this festival are listed below.

Nakshyatra Gurukula (Guadia, Brahmagiri)
Chandrasekhar Gotipua Kala Sansad (Dimirisena, Brahmagiri)
Nilakantheswar Gotipua Gurukula, Dance Academi (Ghatakudi, Brahmagiri)
Aradhana Dance Akademi (Kandagoda, Brahmagiri)

Day 3 : 17th November 2012

Natyambara (Dimirisena, Brahmagiri)
Odisha Dance Akademi (Gotipua Gurukul, Dhauli)
Laxmipriya Gotipua Nrutya Kendra (Indolakusiary, Balipatna)

First year, eight Gotipua dance troupes had participated. “The event gained huge popularity and the demand for Gotipua performance has increased manifold after last year’s event,” said Sushil Kumar Das, Tourism and Culture Department Director.
