HDFC to open another 39 branches in Odisha

HDFC, a major private sector bank plans to set up another 39 branches in Odisha by the end of the current financial year. Aditya Puri, the bank’s managing director who was on a two-day visit to the state said, “We will be reaching 100 by the end of the financial year. Eleven branches will be opened by October 12”.
More than 75 per cent of the branches of the bank will be in rural and semi-urban areas of the state. HDFC will also set up a training centre here. Most of the staff will be recruited from among the local residents. They are also planning to open branch at Malkangiri and in the Maoist-affected areas as suggested by the chief minister.
Recently, there are HDFC branches in 16 districts of Odisha. The districts are – Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundergarh.
