For the first in India, SURFing festival will be organized and that too at Odisha’s Ramchandi beach from 7th to 9th February.
Instructors from Surfing Yogis, a team of highly-skilled surfers, will school first-time surfers in a 30-minute session that includes paddling and other such basics of the sport. Up to 100 participants can register for the first paddle surf session.
Key events to look out for at India Surf Festival include an art show by Nova Collective, live performances by I20DUB—a collaboration by Argentinean and Indian artists—and impromptu sand carvings by sand artists from Puri Sand Art Institute.
The India Surf Festival provides various accommodation options. The Surfer’s Village is located seven kilometers from the festival venue where participants and guests can stay at tents and hermit huts. The 50 camping tents come with mattresses, pillows and blankets while the huts come with mattresses, mosquito nets and a bamboo lantern. Guests who don’t want to camp in tents can also stay at the Lotus Eco Village, which has 19 comfortable cottages. Facilities for independent campers are also available at this festival, starting at Rs 2,500 for a stay of three nights.
