INOX Bhubaneswar trial run on 14 Dec

INOX BBSR, the city multiplex, second in Odisha after Jeypore, was constructed nearly six months ago, it was yet to become operational due to unknown reasons. Inox authorities refused to elaborate on the reason for the delay.

But the state capital can finally boast of a multiplex with Inox ready to conduct a trial run with a movie show on December 14 at the newly constructed theatre at Saheed Nagar here.

“After the trial run, we will finalize a date to throw the multiplex open for the public. We appeal to people to wait for a few more days,” said an Inox employee.

Film buffs are excited about the new movie address in town. “We are eagerly waiting to watch movies in Inox to get the feel of a metro city here. I have watched movies in Inox in Mumbai. The quality of picture and sound was awesome,” said Sambit Acharya, a banker. “People are quite excited to see the multiplex run. We are receiving lots of queries, emails and Facebook posts,” said an Inox employee.

The multiplex has roped in the latest technology — QUBE 2K digital projection system with Dolby digital. Resolutions of pictures will be represented by horizontal pixel count, usually 2K (2048×1080 or 2.2 megapixels).

Built on a sprawling 35,000 square feet area, the multiplex has three giant screens with a seating capacity of 939. While 407 viewers can sit in the hall of screen, 1, 215 and 317 people can watch films on screen 2 and 3 respectively. Ticket prices will range between Rs 80 and Rs 230, sources said.

Inox officials said tickets for new releases on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will cost more. The tickets will be available on cheaper rates from Monday to Thursday. Ticket prices will be nominal for movies after three weeks. “We are planning to charge lowest price for morning shows. We plan to run five shows every day,” the Inox official said.
