Amma to visit Bhubaneswar first time
Spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi, popularly known as Amma, will visit the State for the first time and hold a public discourse at Janta Maidan here on January 21. She will be accompanied by around 600 close followers, including 400 from abroad.
She is scheduled to inaugurate the Amrita Vidyalayam School.
Around 100 women and students would be provided with widow pension for life and scholarships for studies respectively.
The organisers stated that she would meet the public with her customary hug. Tokens would be provided to the followers for Amma’s darshan or the hug. Over 50,000 people from across the State and the country along with 20 other nations are expected to attend the programme.
A cultural programme featuring famous Odissi dancers and devotional songs by reputed singers would also be organised in her honour.
Amma would be welcomed by Puri king Gajapati Dibya Singh Deb. Governor MC Bhandare and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would be present among others.
