Odisha plus two exam 2014 on March 3
Plus Two examinations conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will begin from March 3 and will continue till 26, Higher Education Badrinarayan Patra announced today.
The practical tests, which were generally conducted after the theory examinations, will this time be conducted prior to theory papers. Practical examinations will begin from February 17 and end on February 26, he said.
Patra said the three-hour examinations will be held in the single-sitting-a-day format, starting at 10 am. There will be four sets of question papers to prevent malpractice, the minister said adding that examination dates have been fixed keeping an eye on the ensuing general elections.
The Plus Two examinations in the self-financing colleges of the State will be conducted under the surveillance of close circuit television (CCTV) cameras from this year.
The Higher Education Department has directed all the self-financing colleges to install CCTV cameras in the examination halls and laboratories by the end of this month ahead of the higher secondary examinations.
For the first time, such a step has been taken to check cheating and unfair means during examination. The decision comes after last year’s Plus Two question paper leak that rocked the State in March.
Earlier in the day, the Minister held a meeting with Secretary Gagan Kumar Dhal, Additional Secretary Durga Prasad Behera and Chairman of CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi.
