Sahitya Charcha by Odisha Akademi
In an attempt to popularise Odia literature, to discuss contemporary issues related to it and its standing in the national and international scenario, a three day “Sahitya Charcha” programme was organised by the Odisha Sahitya Akademi at State Archieves.
The Seminar that took place from September 4-6 witnesses a gathering of more than 200 litterateurs from across the state.
During the three days, the focus was on three different aspects of Oriya literature – short story writing, essay writing and drama – where renowned writers from respective fields were invited to discuss the recent developments in their fields.
On the inaugural day, eminent short story writers of the state got together to share their ideas on popularising this genre of writing among youngsters.
The second day saw essay writers coming together to discuss ways to garner essay writing skills.
Odisha Sahitya Akademi also plans to organise similar seminars in the forthcoming months on other genres of literature – novel, poem, autobiography and travelogue, translation, children’s litearture and Geeti Kabita.
