TCS Bhubaneswar to recruit 4000 techies

Leading information technology services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will recruit 4,000 techies for its Bhubaneswar centre in the next three months after expansion work here is completed, TCS chief N. Chandrasekaran informed chief minister Naveen Patnaik at the secretariat on Friday.

The centre currently has 1,000 employees.

He said this year the company has hired 2,000 employees from colleges across Odisha.

Official sources said during the meeting, Naveen assured Chandrasekaran of all assistance to make Bhubaneswar number one information technology destination among Tier-II cities of the country.

Company sources said TCS’s Bhubaneswar centre served at least 20 major clients within the country and abroad in industry segments like banking and financial services, retail, insurance and government with a focus on technology areas like enterprise solutions, assurance services, infrastructure services, BPO as well as IT services.

The four-year-old centre in the city, also known as TCS Kalinga Park, would expand further by 2015-16 and generate employment for 10,000 persons.

The centre being developed over 45 acre is part of the company’s unique Global Network Delivery Model (GNDM).

Government sources said the department of information technology is preparing a roadmap for IT development.
