C Nagappan new Chief Justice
Justice C Nagappan was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Wednesday. The 62-year-old, who is the 23rd Chief Justice of Odisha, took over from acting Chief Justice P K Mohanty.
Governor M C Bhandare administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nagappan at a simple function held on the court premises.
The post of Chief Justice was lying vacant since December last year when the then incumbent Justice V Gopalagowda was elevated to the bench of the Supreme Court.
Prior to his present assignment, Justice Nagappan was officiating as a senior judge of Madras High Court. (Source – The Times of India)
