Rival groups, which clashed in the Utkal University last week, took their fight outside the campus today. While one group moved to the Odisha Human Rights Commission seeking action, another group staged protest outside the Raj Bhavan.

Seven persons, including four students, were injured and several vehicles were damaged in the campus clash that took place on Thursday and Friday. The two warring groups, comprising students as well as non-students, had then lodged complaints against each other with Saheed Nagar police.

“We have registered cases and are inquiring into the matter. Accused from both sides would be arrested if found guilty,” an officer of Saheed Nagar police station said.

The university, which witnessed violent student unrests in the past, is still under tight security to avoid any untoward incident.
