Bali Yatra 2024 Cuttack – Bali Jatra start date and end date
Bali Yatra or Bali Jatra will begin on 15 November 2024 (Friday) in Cuttack. Baliyatra’s start date and end date (November 22) are mentioned here. Odisha’s largest trade and commerce fair will be held on the Barabati Fort area and banks of the Mahanadi River.
For the first time, a new drone show with as many as 500 drones, is going to be the main attraction. Bollywood personalities like Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkar and Piyush Mishra will perform this year. The audience will also enjoy an attractive green crackers show during the popular festival. Odia asmita (identity) and Odia cinema will be the theme.
The Cuttack district administration has begun on-spot booking of non-allotted plots for the Bali Yatra to be held from Nov 15. The traders, who could not avail of a plot to set up their shops during the annual trade fair, now can get a plot immediately by taking advantage of the on-spot booking facility.
A special laser light show will be held during the 8-day-long Bali Yatra. A Delhi-based company that has been assigned with the task conducted a trial run at the Mahanadi river bed. According to sources, the show will be organized every evening during the Bali Yatra. The laser light will display more than 10 videos on the rich history of Cuttack, five visits of Mahatma Gandhi to the city, and the ‘Bara Putras’ of Odisha.
With the historic Bali Yatra in Cuttack around the corner, special measures have begun to make the event a grand success. If everything goes as planned, this year’s Bali Yatra will see a unique Guinness Book of World Records. As per available information, the record will be attempted by making 10,000 paper boats in 15 minutes. Around 2,000 to 3,000 students will be roped in by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) to get the feat entered into the record books.
A coordinated effort is currently underway to make the historic Bali Yatra festival in Cuttack cleaner and greener this year. The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) is planning to set up special stalls where visitors can get a cashback of Rs 5 for every plastic water bottle they return. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will flag off three tableaux on the rich maritime history of ancient Odisha as a part of Bali Jatra. The tableaux will travel to various places across Odisha such as Puri, Paradip, Khurda, and others. The objective is to attract more visitors to the maritime trade fair on the banks of the Mahanadi River.
Bali Yatra is held every year to commemorate and celebrate the glorious maritime history of Odisha and draws thousands of visitors from across the state and beyond.
