Congress kicks off poll campaign

The Odisha Congress today launched its election campaign from Keonjhar, Chhenapadi.

Formally kicking off his party’s campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha, AICC general secretary BK Hariprasad slammed the chief minister for wooing leaders from opposition parties in the name of value-based politics and playing a dirty political game.

The meeting was also addressed by PCC chief Jayadev Jena, Union Minister Srikant Jena, AICC secretary Subhankar Sarkar, Congress MP Rajib Biswal and local Congress candidate Madhab Sardar.

PCC president Jayadev Jena said – since the BJD government is neck deep in corruption including the mega mining scam, it has no moral right to continue in office.

Union minister Srikant Jena said – the BJD government had done precious little for the mineral-rich Keonjhar district though the district’s contribution in terms of revenue generation for Odisha’s exchequer was massive.
