ABAAS Urban Housing Mission by Odisha Govt for Urban Poor

Under ABAAS, Odisha Urban Housing Mission, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today handed over work orders to 11,228 beneficiaries for the construction of houses in the first phase.

Under the scheme, poor people having own land will be allocated a sum of Rs 2 lakh in four phases for the construction of a pucca house of 300 sq ft area.

Financial assistance under the ABAAS scheme will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.

It may be mentioned here that as many as 23,843 beneficiaries from the economically weaker sections have been identified in 26 districts for allocation of financial assistance to construct houses, official sources said.

This apart, 11,548 beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela cities have been identified under the ABAAS scheme for allocation of financial assistance to construct houses, official sources added.

Odisha government launched the scheme to provide houses to the people having low income and economically backward people, living in urban areas. Abaas mission would serve to fulfill the promise of protection and welfare of slum dwellers by providing affordable houses.
