16 from Odisha cracked Civil Services Examination 2017

The Union Public Service Commission has declared final results of Civil Services Examination 2017. A total of 16 candidates from Odisha cracked the examination this year including 13 boys and 3 girls.

11. Samir Kumar Jena- Rank 684
12. Ashis Kumar Sahu – Rank 719
13. Manoranjan Behera – Rank 826
14. Yashodhara Das – Rank 894
15. Shibu Prasad Mishra – Rank 906
16. Sudhanshu Nayak – Rank 931

A total of 990 candidates (750 men and 240 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services. While Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad topped the examination, the top candidate from Odisha was Subhankar Mohapatra who secured 46th rank.

Subhankar, the resident of Shree Vihar at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar, was spending eight hours daily for preparation for civil services examinations after completing his MBBS degree from SCB Medical College & Hospital.

Earlier, he had cleared IRS and IPS in 2015 and 2016 respectively. However, he was not interested to continue his career into these services.

As Subhankar always wanted to be an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, he again appeared the exam. Currently, he is undergoing training as the IRS in Gurgaon.
