Odisha Skating team enters Guinness Book of World Records
A 13-member team of Odisha Roller Skating Association (ORSA) entered the Guinness Book of World Records by skating non-stop for 48 hours.
The skaters from Odisha created the world record during the Largest Roller Skating Lesson held at Shivganga Skating Club in Belgaum of Karnataka on November 10, 2018. Sources said, more than 545 competitors had participated in the skating competition.
Governor Ganeshi Lal congratulated the team for the achievement and felicitated all the players at a special function held at Raj Bhavan. The team has skaters from various districts across the State.
ORSA is the apex State body for roller skating sports recognised by Sports and Youth Services Department, Odisha Council of Sports and Odisha Olympic Association.
Coach Panchanana Behera and ORSA secretary Partha Sarathi Jena were present at the felicitation ceremony among others.
