Raahgiri Day in Bhubaneswar to begin from November 27 again
The second edition of ‘Raahgiri Day’ in Bhubaneswar will begin from November 27.
City residents can again flock to the Master Canteen to Ram Mandir Square stretch of Janpath to enjoy their Sunday mornings with a dose of sports, art, culture and fitness.
Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda and BMC Mayor announced this in a joint press conference in the Palm Court of the Odisha Secretariat.
BMC Mayor appealed all the citizens of Bhubaneswar especially the fans of Raahgiri to cooperate BMC in organizing this popular event in a smooth and peaceful way.
He has also said that the event will start at 6:00 AM and will continue upto 10:00 PM. As of now there is no proposal of discontinuity of the event after specific weeks. It will continue till the weather is friendly for organizing the event.
Raahgiri will be hosted by Bhubaneswar Municiapl Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Smart City Purpose Vehicle (SPV) alongwith Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
The Raahgiri day, which started from January 17 this year and was observed on 27 Sundays after then, was suspended as rainfall during the monsoon acted as a major barrier in mass gathering.
Frequent rainfall had created hindrance in skating and painting during Raahgiri days besides creating problems for senior citizens to join the celebrations for which the BMC decided not to hold Raahgiri days till October 2.
