Residence and Caste certificates with Birth certificate in Odisha
The Odisha government decided to provide Residence and Caste certificates along with the Birth certificate to new-born babies.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the revenue and disaster management department to take necessary steps in this regard, said an official release on Tuesday.
The govt observed that many problems would be resolved if caste and resident certificates are provided along with birth certificates. The CM directed the department to make a detailed plan within a month’s time to formalize the proposed system by using latest technology.
He also directed officers concerned to facilitate e-payment of stamp duty.
Revenue and disaster management minister Bijayshree Routray said the government would set up a training institute for revenue officers in Bhubaneswar.
To prevent encroachment of government land, the revenue department has been asked to pilot the Odisha Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Bill in the upcoming session of the assembly, the release added.
