AIIMS Bhubaneswar to own air ambulance and helipad soon
If things go well, AIIMS Bhubaneswar will become the first government hospital in the country to own an air ambulance and helipad to deliver urgent medical attention to critically ill patients.
It will be helpful for the jawans who got critically injured during fight with maoists in dense forests of Odisha. Government can save their life and boost their morale.
The patients can be brought through air ambulance within one hour of injury and Bhubaneswar AIIMS trauma centre will take their care perfectly.

The helicopter ambulance will have paramedic staff and a doctor trained to handle critical patients. The staff on board and on the ground will be given special training on transporting patients in these choppers.
A fully equipped air ambulance costs around Rs 10 crore. Presently, some private hospitals in Delhi have their own air ambulances, Fortis, Gangaram, Apollo and Medanta. Several private companies provide air ambulances to fly patients from one place to another.
