Bhubaneswar: Rent a Motor Cycle scheme starts in Smart city

Odisha Motor Vehicle department has launched ‘Rent a Motor Cycle’ scheme in the Smart city in collaboration with a Kolkata-based company ‘Drop You’.

“It is necessary to provide smart mobility solutions to public in the smart city. This initiative will provide a cost effective alternative to commuters. This scheme will reduce traffic, congestion and parking problems as well,” said Bhubaneswar DCP, Anup Kumar Sahoo.

Department has provided licences to ‘Drop You’ for 18 bikes in Bhubaneswar. An agreement has been signed between Drop You and the Odisha Motor Vehicle department for implementation of the scheme in Bhubaneswar.

The newly launched scheme is expected to be beneficial for tourists as they can travel around Bhubaneswar and Puri in their own suitable time. The motorcycles can be hired on hourly or daily basis at the cost of Rs 36 per hour.

“You can call our customer care number and book the motor cycle as per the availability. Customers can make payment online through Paytm and Tez applications. Someone can even visit the office for details inquiry and avail the service,” said Ayush Danalia, co-founder of Drop You.
