Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal appointed as Director of NIT Meghalaya

Prof Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, presently Professor of Industrial Design Department and Dean (Faculty Welfare) at NIT Rourkela has been appointed as the new Director of NIT Meghalaya (NITM).

The communication regarding this came last week from Union Ministry of Human Resources Development. Professor Biswal has been very active in the NIT administration since his joining the NIT.

He headed the Training and Placement Centre for around 12 years, the newly added Industrial Design Department for four years and has been the Dean (Faculty Welfare) for last two years. Apart from this, Prof Biswal has also been heading the Centre for Technology Innovation and Industry Relation (TIIR).

Prof Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal has a very strong research and academic career of more than 31 years. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT, Burla (formerly University College of Engineering) in 1985, he completed his PhD from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

He has so far produced 13 PhDs, published more than 120 research papers in international levels and has handled a number of sponsored research projects of various agencies.
