Biswajeet Mohapatra from Odisha in Indian Idol 2016 performance

Odisha singer Biswajeet Mohapatra has been selected in audition round of Indian Idol 2016, to be aired on Sony TV from 24 December, Sat-Sun at 8 pm.

He impressed one of the judges of Indian Idol 9, Anu Malik with his audition performance on ‘is dil ka main kya karoon’ song. He said, “I am so impressed that I want to call you right now to work in music industry.”

Bollywood music director Anu Malik mesmerized by seeing amazing talent of singer Biswajeet Mohapatra. He thinks Biswajeet owns very unique and youth favorite melodious voice. He said- Biswajeet represents the youth of today in stylized and melodic manner.

It has been 12 years since the first season of India Idol premiered and set a new trend in singing reality shows by picking talent from across India.

Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan were the original judges of the show. And now the trio will be seen again in the upcoming season. While Anu was seen in most of the season, Sonu and Farah will be back after a gap of 12 years.
