After Naba Das was suspended by Odisha Assembly Speaker for watching adult content on his mobile during Question Hour, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has sought a clarification from the Jharsuguda legislator in the matter, which the ruling BJD has termed ‘shameful’.

On December 15, BJD’s Pramila Mallick brought allegation against Das that the latter was watching obscene video when the House was in function. The Speaker had referred the matter to the Ethics Committee of the House for an inquiry.

The next day, BJD chief whip Ananta Das moved a motion in the House calling for suspension of Das, which was accepted by voice vote and the Jharsuguda legislator was suspended for seven days.
