Odisha bodybuilder selected for Mr World Championship in Russia
Odisha’s star bodybuilder Janmejaya Mohanty won gold medal and Mr. India Trophy in the 80 kg weight category while representing West Bengal in the 4th edition of NABBA Mr. India National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship 2016 held in Gurgaon on Sunday.
The success has also brought him direct entry to the Mr. World Championship to be held at MTL Arena Samara in Russia in June 2017. The bodybuilder was welcomed on Monday on his arrival in Bhubaneswar after registering the win.
“After almost one year I got the opportunity to participate in a national selection and trail camp, thanks to West Bengal Bodybuilding and Welfare Association,” said Janmajaya on his arrival.
Janmejaya Mohanty, a resident of Bhubaneswar and hailing from Jajpur district, has won many titles for his muscular body representing Odisha.
Janmejaya has won silver medal in the Mr. India 2009 and 2011, he bagged thrice gold medal in the Eastern India Bodybuilding meet in the 85kg category. In his departmental national event, he claimed six times gold medal by winning Dakashree title.
