Odisha Traders Association urges public to boycott Chinese products

The Federation of All-Odisha Traders’ Association urged people of the state to boycott Chinese products in the wake of growing tension between India and its neighbour.

The union at its General Council Meeting at Malgodown in Cuttack decided not to buy or sell the Chinese products any more. “India is facing threats from China, which is earning huge profits by selling its products in the Indian market. We will close all business establishments for one day in the state to make people aware about the evil designs of China,” association secretary B.K. Mohanty told reporters.

Stating that the traders’ association wanted to make its campaign a national programme, Mohanty said they would also urge trade associations across the country to take similar steps.

In order to make people aware of the benefits made by China by pushing its products to sell across India, the traders union has decided to close all the commercial establishments for one day across the State.

The exact date to observe the bandh call will be announced at General Council Meeting of the union scheduled in last week of July in Bhubaneswar.
