Kalahandi medical college: Odisha Chief Minister laid foundation
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid foundation stones of the much-awaited medical college in Kalahandi district.
Addressing a public meeting, the chief minister said the state government is keen to bring Kalahandi on par with developed districts. He laid the foundation stone of the medical college at Bhangabari of Bhawanipatna, the district headquarters of kalahandi district.
“Our government is sincere for the back ward regions and deprived class. For development of tribal pockets we have appealed to the central government for special funding,” said Naveen.
He expressed pleasure that Vedanta Foundation has extended financial support for the establishment of the medical college and to build its infrastructure.
The construction work for it started today and would be completed by 2017-18, the CM said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also laid foundation stones of several projects aimed at development of the state’s tribal region.
