Odia actor Amlan Das critically injured in car accident last night

Odia actor Amlan Das was critically injured in a car accident at Ring Road near Markatnagar police station in Sector-7 area of Cuttack late last night.

According to reports, the mishap took place at around 2.30 AM when Amlan was returning home in his car from a function. The driver of the vehicle tried to overtake another car at Ring Road following which both the vehicles fell of the bridge.

Two other people, who were in the car, were also injured in the accident. The two others were his driver and a friend.The incident took place when the actor’s car lost balance and hit an electric pole near the Markatnagar police station here before falling off a bridge. Amlan sustained injuries on his head.

While the actor was rescued and admitted to Ashwini Hospital, the driver of the other car was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

“Amlan’s condition is stable. He has sustained injuries on his head. He is able to talk now,” said Amlan’s father and veteran actor Mihir Das.
