Odisha Govt to construct playgrounds in all Gram Panchayats
The Odisha government will construct playgrounds in all 6236 gram panchayats in the State.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who reviewed the implementation of schemes by the department to fulfil BJD’s poll promises, announced that construction of playgrounds in all the panchayats will be over soon. Each playground will cost Rs 5 lakh.
The BJD manifesto for polls had announced that the Government will scale up implementation of Youth policy and implement all components in a time-bound manner for all-round development of youths in the State with focus on girls and other vulnerable groups.
Launching the Youth Policy in 2013, the Chief Minister had said the policy aims at placing the youth at the centre-stage of social, economic, cultural and political processes with focus on promoting access to quality education, skill development and training, employment opportunities, technology, innovation, entrepreneurship development and gender justice.
He also asked the department to give priority to the development of playground in the tribal-dominated districts.
The chief minister directed the department to raise the financial assistance to several youth clubs and organisations and provide the revised aid in time.
