Odisha government approves three private industrial parks
The Odisha government on Friday accorded in-principle approval to three private industrial parks to be set up at an investment of Rs 1,640 crore with an employment potential of around 7,900.
The projects were approved at the state level meeting headed by chief secretary A P Padhi. While approving the projects, Padhi asked Odisha industrial infrastructure development corporation (Idco) to assess land requirement for the three projects and to set milestones to monitor their progress.
The detailed project report of Gitanjali Infratech Limited for setting up a gems, jewellery, lifestyle and luxury goods park at Ramdaspur in Baranga tehsil of Cuttack district was given the final approval. The park will have processing technologies for cutting and polishing of diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones, manufacturing of gold, silver, platinum and imitation jewellery.
The proposal of Jindal Stainless Steel Limited for setting up downstream stainless steel park at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 704 crore was given in principle approval. The park will have 71 small and medium units in auto manufacturing, kitchenware and lifestyle, light engineering, white goods, precision cold rolling and pipe and tubes sectors and a service centre. The park will create employment opportunities for 4,800 persons.
Similarly, proposal of Welspon Odisha Steel Private Limited for setting up a food processing, warehousing and electrical equipment park in Dosinga and Chainipahi villages of Bhadrak district near Dhamra port was also given in principle approval.
