Now order food online in Bhubaneswar from restaurants and temples
Now people of smart city Bhubaneswar can simply go online and order their choice of food from restaurants, and even temples, through many websites, apps, facebook pages and whatsapp nos.
Several young entrepreneurs have cashed in on people’s love for good food to experiment with various business models of online food delivery services.
Brothers Soumyaranjan Nayak and Biswa Nayak started a website that delivers food from all the popular restaurants in Bhubaneswar. The website, www.0km.in, was started in 2015 and within one year of its functioning, it receives a minimum of 150 orders each day. With a strong network of around 450 restaurants of different sizes, the company is fast growing and has plans to include restaurants in Cuttack and Puri too.
For the health conscious, homemade food is also available based on specifications. A customer can opt for food with less spice and oil and even for dishes without potato from www.foodzo.in. Launched in February 2016, it is receiving orders for more than 150 meals a day. Ayush Mohanty, a B.Tech graduate, who started the company with three friends, said they have plans to start a-la-carte service with a separate price for each item on the menu, which will also include a thali.
A group of five techies cashed in on this to start a food delivery service that allows you to order meals from all the major temples in the city by simply visiting their website. www.templethali.com, has received 1,500 orders since its launch on July 3. It delivers ‘abhada’ from Ananta Basedev Temple and vegetarian thali from Shani Temple, Saheed Nagar, and ‘khaja’, a traditional Odia sweetmeat from Jagannath Temple, Puri.
Other online food ordering services that have come up in the city include Dabawalas, which supplies food to major corporate houses in the state capital. The menu includes various Indian cuisine items delivered in lunchboxes or trays.
Other home-grown delivery services to name are www.foodcitybhubaneswar.com (Food City), www.deliverydoots.com (Delivery Doots) and www.foodkhoj.com (Food Khoj), most of which have been started by young entrepreneurs.
