Odisha: Free travel and free heart surgeries for 1000 patients of state
Heart patients belonging to weaker sections of the society in Odisha had reason to cheer when the state government signed MoU with Prashanti Medical Service and Research Foundation (PMSRF) to bear the cost of their travel expenses to a hospital run by the latter for free surgeries.
The MoU with a charitable institution of National repute for delivery of quality healthcare service for cardiac to the people of Odisha suffering from different cardiac ailments, will be helpful for the state in a big way.
The managing trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, Manoj Bhamani, said the MoU also provided for 1000 children from Odisha to be taken to Gujarat for free surgeries in phases. “In the first camp, we have already treated 137 patients. We hope that this takes Odisha and Gujarat’s relations to the next level.”
More than 1200 heart patients from in and around Odisha were screened and diagnosed in the camp. Free surgeries will be provided at Rajkot and Ahmedabad heart hospitals in Gujarat.
Under this, people including children suffering from congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease etc can receive required surgery through PMSRF on a sustained basis.
